Paddle surfing is also becoming increasingly popular. You can do it on your own or with a guide, and there are sunset tours and sunset tours to see the city lit up. Some even organise activities to practise yoga or other fitness exercises on the boards.

The Guadalquivir as the perfect backdrop

There is even the possibility of sailing in a fully equipped sailing boat. There are different types depending on your needs and whether or not you have a nautical licence for pleasure craft. There are even centres in the city that offer classes for those who are interested.

In addition to professionals, other people can enjoy these activities individually, as a couple or in groups, because there are different companies that rent the equipment to sail the river for an hour and a half or two hours and even teach you how to navigate, turn and everything you need to be safe. These trips can even be done with a guide who will show you the most emblematic points of the city, which can be seen from the river, such as the Torre del Oro or the Triana Bridge.

The famous boat trip

One of the most beautiful memories that tourists take away from this city is the peaceful boat ride on the waters of the Guadalquivir. It is a relaxing activity in which to breathe in the fresh air and see the city from a different perspective. The trips usually last around an hour and a half, and some of them include drinks and tastings of typical products such as Iberian ham to make the trip perfect.

Witness to infinite civilisations

The Guadalquivir River as it passes through Seville is steeped in an impressive amount of history. An infinite number of civilisations have settled along the banks of its 657 kilometres, attracted by a city that has always offered many opportunities.

The Guadalquivir River was the gateway to what was then known as the New World (America). Thanks to the voyages that departed from here and the merchants who profited from those voyages, the city became rich from what was known as the trade with the Indies. This was also the scene of the circumnavigation of Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano, or of the attacks on the city by the Drakens Viking ships.
